Is this a good saltwater aquarium setup? And also, what’s a good stock list?
I already own a 55 gallon fish tank with a stand. I haven’t ordered anything yet, but I have came up with a list of all the things I plan on getting. Please tell me any knowledge you have of any of the items or if you suggest something different.
Item list-
-55 gallon glass fish tank
-Stand fitted for tank
-Marineland Magnum Canister Filter 350 Pro
-SeaClone Protein Skimmer SCPS 100
-Penguin Powerhead Model 550 x 2
-Hydor Theo Heater 200 watt x 2
-Portable Refractometer
-Instant Ocean Reef Crystals Synthetic Sea Salt 150 gallon bucket
-Thermometer
-Ocean Direct Caribbean Live Sand 60lb
Looking for a good test kit also.
As for the things i plan on putting into the tank i’m not sure of. I want to add at least 60 pound of live rock for filtration. The only fish I have a strong desire to add to the tank is a Ocellaris Clownfish. Could someone please come up with a list of tank mates i can add in with my 3-4 Clownfish?
Thanks!

Its not bad. since you are using live rock. You may want to look into losing the filters though and going with a wet dry filter or a just a sump. A Decent fish store should be able to put one together for you.
Also thats way to much sand. You really only want about an inch of sand. Also no need to buy "live" sand . The live rock will quickly seed regular old aragonite sand.
Dont buy the SeaClown skimmer. They are junk. If you get a sump you can get a decent free standing skimmer. If you do not do the sump then here is a much better skimmer .

good start just had a couple comments on some of your list.
you really don’t need live sand its a waste of money first your sand will become live in a matter of weeks from your live rock and second,l bags of live sand are not really all that live anymore(unless you get it from another established tank or the ocean) there is too much die off from sitting on the selves for month a at a time
the only other thing I need to say is don’t get that skimmer its junk it isn’t even good enough for a 20 gallon much less a 55. if you cant afford a sump or just don’t want one I would go with either an octopus (good for the price) or an aqua c remora (although I have heard they are loud but work well for a cheaper skimmer) as for test kits each brand has a least one thing they test better than others but overall I think a decently priced good brand is salifert.
and good for you getting a refractometer most people want to go cheaper and end up learning the hard way.
as far as tank mates there are so many you can choose from that go well with clowns. any blenny, goby, or dwarf angel maybe a flasher wrasse or long nosed hawkfish

good luck and enjoy your new tank
